It allows us to express ourselves in a safe and non-judgmental environment. As we journal, we can begin to see how our thoughts and emotions affect our state of being.
Once we become aware of our thoughts and feelings, we can begin to change them. If we don’t like how they affect our state of being, we can choose to change them. We can choose to think different thoughts and feel different emotions. We can choose to be in a different state of being.
We first must believe that changing our thoughts and emotions is possible. We must believe that we have the power to change them. Once we believe that we can change them, it becomes possible for us to actually do it.
One way to start believing that we can change our thoughts and emotions is by using affirmations. Affirmations are positive statements that we can use to help us believe that we can change our negative thinking patterns into positive ones and improve our emotional state of Being. The more often you hear or recite affirmations, the greater the chance will take root in the subconscious mind, helping manifest into reality.
Some examples of affirmations that you could use:
• I am worthy of love and happiness.
• I am capable of changing my negative thinking patterns into positive ones.
•I am capable of improving my emotional state.
•I am surrounded by love and support.
•I am capable of overcoming any challenge.

The Key is in FEELING the affirmations, repetitively ‘inserting’ them into our subconsciousness, reaching a point where we BELIEVE it.
